Settings not being saved after shutdown

i'm running V5 on an Asus Chromebox with LibreELEC 9.1.001 (kernel:Linux 5.1.9) and Docker, with a Western Digital external harddrive. Everything works fine but when I shutdown or reboot I lose all of the settings.
To get it to work I had to SSH into it and use the following settings:

docker run -d \
> --volume /storage/pi/config:/config \
> --volume /var/media/sdb1-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKB-0/videos:/recordings \
> --volume /var/media/sdb1-ata-WDC_WD5000AAKB-0/videos:/buffer \
> --publish 8866:8866 \
> nextpvr/nextpvr_amd64:latest

I'm fumbling my way through this as I have no experience with Docker and minor use of Linux. I'm guessing that there's something wrong with the config location, but I'm lost after that.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Diagnosing my bad picture

Hi All,
Im attaching a couple of images the left is my main PC build and the right is my HTPC (technicaly and Unraid VM but the problem im seeing i have seen on most other HW that isnt my main PC.

there is obviously nothing wrong with NPVR its done it on all versions it just so happens im running v4 on my pc and v5 in the VM

like i say i have seen this on my shuttle, another tower pc and this VM all have plenty of system resources to do the job.
Im using PCTV 291e USB tuners x2 in the UK

Somone had suggested power may be an issue but these are running directly off the motherboard or a PCI card it makes no difference.

Also the audio is choppy

Is NLite source for windows available somewhere?

As the title suggests. You mentioned that it was open source but I can't find any source. I want to make a client for my 89 y.o. MIL that will only play the two or three channels that she actually wants to watch without having to wade through the other 60+ channels to find it. No layers of menu to wade through, no place she can get lost. Press channel down, it goes to the next channel, press left, it goes to the next channel, press OK, it goes to the next channel. Press any key at all and it goes to the next channel... It is so painful to teach her how to use firety + netflix (which she loves) over and over again. My main interest is seeing how to use c# + libvlc to play the content then add v5 calls to the linux backend.

TV playback hangs under Kodi then crashes

Hi,

I'm experiencing issues getting TV playback to work in Kodi.

Playback via NextPVR is working.

In Kodi, selecting the channel results in an initial screen showing but freezing almost immediately. Kodi then crashes.

Attached are logs for kodi and NextPVR.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Live TV when both tuners already recording

Hi, I'm using NextPVR 4.2.4 as a backend with Kodi clients as frontend. The NextPVR has two hardware tuners. Is there a way to dedicate one of the two tuners to live TV only? Currently, if two shows are scheduled to be recorded then recording always takes priority and live TV cannot be used. This is creating frustration within our household! Better yet, is there a way to allow both tuners to be used for recording, but if live TV is requested, can NextPVR be set to give live TV priority over recording?

streaming wifi any

Ok this is really bugging me, as I stated in another post I am having issues using nextpvr app when using outside my network, but now it's doing this on my own network. It only seems to do this on my samsung s9+ I have a FireStick 4k and works perfect on wifi. So why would this be doing it on my phone. I'll post some resent logs.

IR Blasting from Kodi running NextPVR addon

Giday, new NextPVR user here trying the software.

Have successfully setup NextPVR, configured devices, EPG etc.

Am using Hauppauge DVB-T tuners and a Hauppauge colossus card with STB, and using the Colossus cards IR blaster.
(Have learned the IR codes of my STB)

Have all working fine using NextPVR interface, and guide is working, and the IR blasting is working to watch Analog channels from my STB using NextPVR on my PC.

However, I am encountering issues changing STB channels from a Kodi client running NextPVR addon.

I have successfully configured the Kodi NextPVR addon, and it imports the channels and guide.
But, when I choose one of the Analog STB channels in Kodi, it does not initiate the IR Blaster like it does when using the native NextPVR on my PC.
(it just plays one of the DVB-T channels)

Just wanted confirmation that IR Blasting should work when using Kodi NextPVR addon?, or does IR blasting only work on the local PC running NextPVR.

Also, do the channel numbers have to be unique?
ie. I have a DVB-T channel numbered '1' and also an analog STB channel named 'Sky TV 1' Is that OK?
(Have defined two groups in NextPVR 'Digital' and 'Analog'

Kinda perplexed as to why IR blasting aint working from the Kodi client. Is there something obvious I have overlooked?

Some Channels not working

Hello,

I'm using NPVR with dual Hauppauge HDPVR2 capture devices. Everything is working perfectly, except some channels won't display for me. I see the HDPVR fire up and stream, and NPVR shows the device as working, but the screen is blank. The only commonality I can think of is I think these channels are SD.

Is there a log or something I can review to see whats going on? (I'm new to NVPR)

PostProcessing.sh not being invoked

I can't seem to get PostProcessing.sh to be invoked after a recording has finished. I am a bit of a Noob at this.

I am running NextPVR in a docker container on an UnRaid NAS server. On the host, PostProcessing.sh is located in mnt/appdata/NextPVR/Config/scripts

In my setup of the docker container I have mapped the path in the NextPVR container /config to the host path: mnt/appdata/NextPVR/Config
This mapping works as all of the configuration files and recording logs are created in the host folder.

I can also open a docker console and by typing /bin/bash /config/scripts/PostProcessing.sh the script executes.

SD EPG update failing

Is anyone else having issues with schedules direct update failing? I am not sure if it is because i didn't configure V5 from scratch and just moved the database from v4 over. I have attached the logs after trying an update.

streaming wifi ouside network

Today is July 30, 2019. I did some testing today in the hopes of better info. Started out the test today at 1080p@10mb quality on my LTE+, NextPVR was playing fine for 20min then stopped. Then tried it on WIFI with the same quality settings and the it played for 1min then stopped. Next I took the quality down to 480p@ 1mb while still on WIFI, played for 20min then stopped. My internet speed is 200mb down and 15mb upload. Would be cool if I could get this fixed. I have uploaded my logs for today.

Can no longer select a batch file as Blaster executable?

Just adding a new channel and I can't recall how on earth I added batch file strings as the Channel Changer executable before.
Can no longer do so? Only accepts exe?

Any ideas folks?

After performing new channel scan, all channels and live TV are black

I got a new antenna and so I performed a channel scan. I updated the EPG for the new channels, and they show up in the guide, but when I try and watch any of them, they are all black. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

install issues

Ubuntu 19.04 fresh install.
I copy and pasted the .sh files (from the install post) to install and start.

When I run the start script I get an error:

A fatal error occurred, the required library libhostfxr.so could not be found.
If this is a self-contained application, that library should exist in [/root/NPVR/].
If this is a framework-dependent application, install the runtime in the default location [/usr/share/dotnet] or use the DOTNET_ROOT environment variable to specify the runtime location.
I tried apt install libhostfx.so and got a couldn't be found.

What did I miss?

V5 - XMLTV Only 1 day

Hi There,

I have a NextPVR V5 Docker arm32 install but I'm having an issue where the TV Guide and Search features only show exactly 24 hours away.

It's an IPTV setup with XMLTV, but the XMLTV should cover 7 days ahead.

It seems to show exactly 24 hours in the future any time you look at it, which makes me wonder if it's a setting or something causing it?

NLite - Won't run at all

Hi There,

I'm trying to run NLite to connect to my V5 install on a seperate PC (on the same network), but when I click nlite.exe it just does nothing at all.

I've seen some similar talk of this in the initial NLite build discussion from martin123, but I cannot find any resolution.

I have tried running it through command prompt with the nlite.exe -server path, but that has not worked. And I've tried an old nlite.exe file that was suggested but just get 'Checking configuration, About to connect to server'.

On a separate, but related point, I just want to use NLite in efforts to use the manual recording feature. Something that I can't find at all from any of the frontends I've tried.
