No Audio, No Video, Won't Record

Using version 4.2.4 (190307) on a 6 month old Lenovo Windows 10 laptop which I recently got back from Lenovo service. I had to do a System Reset which restored Windows 10 without deleting my files but deleted all of my applications.

I reinstalled NextPVR version 4.2.4 (190307) but when I try to watch live TV I get just a blank screen and no audio. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 955Q with the latest drivers and LAV Audio and Video Encoders (NextPVR worked fine on this laptop before the reset). The HVR 955Q works fine with MediaPortal on Windows 10 and with MythTV on my Linux Mint partition.

When I go to 'Recordings' I see a list of what I tried to record, with the message "Access to the path 'C:\Users\...' is denied".

I checked and I have Administrator rights and Full Control in the Recordings and Pause Buffer folders

Hi, what command line do I use to completely uninstall NextPVR v5 from my Mac? TIA

I did the below to install

copied binaries to directory, an NPVR directory in my home directory.
cd NPVR
chmod +x ./NextPVRServer
./NextPVRServer

m3u8 stream feedback

Hello Sub.

I use m3u8 streams. It's better to do recordings rather than .ts

I've used the nextpvr v5 and the nextpvrserver.exe keeps displaying a 403 error and don't play the live TV or do the recording.

That errors don't occurred in the v4

I can give the link of my IPTV provider and my log files via pm if you wish.

Tks for the nextpvr. It's a awesome program!

manual recording set overnight next day

Hi my wish for NextPvr is to allow manual long recordings. And to allow after midnight next day/morning. I miss out recordings eg. Tennis overnight From 10pm to next day - morning 5am.

Other recorders eg Dvbviewer allow maximum 24 hours non stop - next day etc. 1440 minutes is 24 hours.

moved to windows 10 and npvr 4.2.4 and scan not finding channel

I dont have a log attached because this is an issue with the scan which i assume doesnt log the scan and/or wont indicate any issue with my issue. I just finished upgrading to windows 10 and subsequently the current version of npvr. My old setup on win 7 was working just a few days ago and received wfsb, my local cbs affiliate without issue. Now no matter what adjustments i make to the antenna the scan refuses to find this channel. Theres 2 other stations within a few miles of wfsb and it finds those ok but not this one. I wouldnt worry about it but it's our primary channel for tv viewing. Did something change in this new version that might be affecting the scan or is maybe the win 10 drivers for my happauge card are not as good for a signal?

Im at a loss for why i cant find this channel all of a sudden?

EDIT: Actually after my most recent scan im seeing many of the channels it did find are just black screens. These are stations that had been coming in just fine last i checked a few days ago.

Bee, I don't know what happened to your post but I know as a new user you couldn't post the log because of moderation issues, unfortunately the snippet doesn't answer my main questions and you posted in the general thread so I don't know what OS.

In Window you need to install the Silicon Dust software on your device
In other environments you need to install hdhomerun-config

Channel tuning issue - Australia / Sydney

Hi Brains Trust,

I've been working on setting up a new HTPC using an Intel NUC and Kodi/NextPVR. I'm using a Hauppauge USB WinTV dual tuner.

The problem I'm hitting is tuning channels 9 and 10.

Kaffeine tunes all channels and I've resolved the various install issues around libc / dvb-apps for NextPVR / Kodi but now hitting this tuning issue.

Using the Kaffeine tuning information, I created a custom tuning file in /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/ to target the specific frequencies that Kaffeine picked up, but still I was not able to get the channels for 9 and 10 tuned through NextPVR.

Any suggestions as to what I could do to resolve?

Is there a way to manually load the channel configuration from the conf file in .NPVR-data/adapter0-DVB-T-channels.conf?

I've also been able to open the database with sqlite3 and am considering just updating into that directly.

I've attached one of the logs if that helps.

How can I modify TV Listings Skin

I have used NPVR for a number of years and love the TV Listings Plugin and have got used to using it on my PC and PVR.
Now I am building a Micro PC as a media server for my Lounge TV instead of a large PVR.
This will only be used for playback, so I wanted to remove some of the Buttons from the 'TV Recordings' page.
As it is for playback only I will not need; Ready, Whats New, Last Watched, Pending, Recurring, Conflicts & Manual Rec.
I have found that I can turn off; Ready, Whats New, Last Watched, Pending, Recurring & Conflicts But I cannot find a setting to remove Manual Rec.
I have searched in vain for an .xml file which I could hopefully modify to allow me to do this.
Can you help please?

Live TV doesn't start

Hey guys,

Most of the times that I start the server, the following error displays and the channel doesn't load.
Did anyone had the same problem?

v5 cannot setup other directories for recordings

Hello all

I have vesion 4.24 on my laptop and v3.3.15 on KODI. I have IPTV's testing with a total of about 14000 channel. It is quote a bit. I know. On my laptop all the 14ooo channels show up and the guide not perfect but sufficient. When I launch the PVR in KODI it attempts to load channels but never does. The configurations are correct, with the same ip. I tried the version % eta as someone said it can handle a larger channel line up, but obviously the versions on my laptop both handle the big list. So my question is KODI version 3.3.15 not able to load that many channels? I tried the version 5 beta but couldn't get to the settings option. Thank you

How do I scan for channels?

Hi,

My environment:
  • Debian 10 (Buster)
  • Tuner card TBS-6902
  • Satellite Astra-28.2E

Whenever I click "Scan Channels" via the web interface, nothing is found. How do I perform a full scan without knowing any frequencies whatsoever? TVHeadEnd scans all available channels and streams them perfectly, but I can't do the same with NextPVR v5.

NextPVR detects my twin tuner card:

v5 crash

Not sure if its worth mentioning, but using NPVR v5 through the Emby plugin to Emby and to Emby on a Fire TV, twice I've started playing TVNZ1 (coincidentally ?) and its just stopped playing after a (indeterminate) while. After that I can't tune again on the Fire TV cos NPVR server seems to have crashed. If I start it again, then I can carry on with TVNZ1. It might be after the server has been running for a few days.

So, not sure if you'd want any logs, or if they would show anything seeing as the server has been restarted ?

devices failed

I thought I would give V5 a try in parrellel to v4, so have installed it on my win64 machine in Program Files/NPVR
the software launches, discovers all my cards and loads the website :)
I then configured my folders & thought I would tune a channel or two to test on a kodi client.
However when I press scan channels its says device failed, I have tried with V4 running and with the service + nextpvr shutdown. same result each time.

I have attached my log file incase that helps.

For V4, I have a Postprocessing.bat file for compressing recordings to .mp4's using ffmpeg. By tweaking the settings, I have been able to store and archive shows to a 1/3 of the storage space without sacrificing noticeable quality.

With V5 under a Linux environment, I am guessing I will have to translate the .bat files to Bash script?
