FM streaing through web interface

$

Hi all- Having problems streaming my FM channels with Firefox/Chrome through the web interface of NEXTPVR. ATSC and analog video channels work fine. Streaming the FM channels through the NEXTPVR GUI works fine.

When I try to play the FM channel through the web interface, I see this error under the video player box:
"Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)"

I think I have captured here log files exhibiting problem.

Any input appreciated!

Choice of HDHumerun Prime (3 Tuner) or Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR

So, as you can see by my title, I currently have 2 boxes in my possession. For now, only the Happauge is running on my Windows 10 machine with NPVR. It is actually running great. Never a glitch. But, being the geek I am, I had to look into this HDHomerun Prime. I did all my homework. I got my access cable card from my cable company. Verified that channels will not be blocked (Copy protected) and gathered all the right equipment to make this happen

So, now, it is up and running. But it isnt running in NPVR. The only reason I got the HDHomerun Prime was to stream live TV. But, now I see what this device can do

Does anyone out there think I am better off running the HDHomerun Prime box on NPVR instead of using the Happauge? Will there be better outcomes?

Just curious as to what everyone's thoughts are

No stream on client, newa or vlc - Unexpected error in RTSPKeepAlive

Hi,

i used NextPVR for long time on a Windows XP-Machine with a Hauppauge SAT-Card, Newa and VLC media playr, which works great together.
Now i try to setup my new homeserver with Windows Server 2012 R2 (German), current NextPVR 3.9.2 (161119), current LAV Filters 0.70. I want to use a Telestar Digibit Twin (SAT>IP). The Telestar Device is recognized automatically, device setup and scan was done succesfully. On the server the streaming is working, but it doesn't work on client-side. It doesn't matter if it is a NextPVR Client, the classic webinterface with vlc or the next webinterface with html5. I tried with IE and Firefox.

At the "ndigitalhost-21.log" i see an "2017-06-22 22:27:24.366 [ERROR][8] Unexpected error in RTSPKeepAlive (terminating thread): System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Der Thread wurde abgebrochen.
bei NShared.DigitalRecorder.RTSPKeepAlive()"

Current logs are attached.

It doesn't matter if the firewalls on both sides (client & server) are on or off, it doesn't matter if i use LAN or WLAN.

Any ideas whats going wrong?

Best regards from germany

Orginal Air Date show up in native NPVR guide and search result

The "original Air Date" is actually very important to see in the TV guide and in the search results. I find it interesting that NPVR shows the season and Epnum of a show but not its 'original air date' unless using the web guide. When scheduling a recording, Original Air date is crucial to making the NPR guide surfing far easier and more enjoyable for the user especially when keeping track of up and coming shows. Season and Episode numbers are also beneficial but mainly after the show has been recorded and consolidated into a digital library.

Windows Media Center's lists the OAD and it really is a benefit. Lets have the OAD in the NPVR native Guides and search engine.

Multiple backend servers that interconnect or cluster like MythTV

I'm sure this topic has come up before. But what having two or more backend NPVRs like MythTV allows? It rather disenchanting that MythTV is the only back end platform that does this.

Live TV freezes after several seconds

I have recently started having a problem where live TV freezes after several seconds. It started occasionally on some channels (mostly HD channels) but is now happening on all channels. It is only live TV, it records correctly with no issues and playback of recordings works correctly. If I try to watch live TV I get a few seconds then it freezes and an error message pops up "Nextpvr PVR client Tuner not available." I have attached my log files. Thanks!

Decoders

Hi all,

been messing around with different decoder configurations.

I am trying the Microsoft one which worked with my Happauge PVR but not with my HDHomerun prime

Getting the below error

Is this a setting I am overlooking or is it just not compatible?

This particular decoder works with some channels, but not with others. I suppose certain channels are broadcasting using different codecs?

And while I am on the subject, i do NOT mind paying money if I have to buy decoders. what is the best ones I can possibly get for NPVR? As I said, i will purchase if needed.

Since I got my HDHomerun prime some strange things have been happening to recordings and I suspect it is a decoder issue

For example, every so often as my recordings are playing back it is as if I have a 1/2 second of the video missing (a drop ?)....You can hear a word missing from a sentence if someone on the TV is speaking. not a major issues, but, the issue is there and it is bugging me

I just signed up for Subscriptions direct so I am on their free 7 day trial.
I found all my channels when scanning, updated the EPG, which seemed successful.
Then when I get to TV Guide I always get the error I attached.

I get the error below when I try to look at the TV Guide inside NextPVR, what am I doing wrong or missing?

Thanks.

I've been watching shows I recorded months ago - so no logs available(Npvr3.9.2, HDHR Prime) - and have found a few that won't play.

Any idea how I can fix/remove the first 1 min of the file, I cut a chunk from the end of the file, it plays fine.
Sample of same episode - Beginning & End
Beginning chunk
End chunk
Thanks

Windows 10 which browser?

I know the newer NEWA doesn't play well with Windows explore in Windows 10 (i.e playback freezes after 10 seconds of play) but should it work with Edge?
I can play recordings in Edge but there are no visible controls (pause etc.) and no timeline visible at the bottom of the screen.

DTVTUNE With Infinity Hardware

Hi All,

Quick question:

With direct TV, I was able to use a program called Dtvtune.exe and change the channels on my set top box with the command "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\http\dtvtune.exe -ip 192.168.0.8 -channel %1"

Are Xfinity receivers capable of doing this as well ?

HDHomerun Prime Issues

Hi,

Before I even start this post, I want to let everyone know that the issue I am about to post is not limited to NPVR. But, with all of the knowledge in these subs, I thought maybe someone would be kind enough to help me out :)

So, I have a windows 10 machine. i5, 16GB Ram, 500GB SSD Nvidia GT860 that i run NPVR on. A machine decent enough to record TV. I had a Happauge 1212 PVR and never had a single issue. I recently switched from direct TV to xfinity and also upgraded my recording device. I now have an HDHomerun prime.

I really love this device. 3 tuners, and I am all set.

So, something I noticed though.

All of my recordings (not very often, but, maybe once per hour) a section of the video (for a fraction of a second) is dropped. As an example, I may miss 1/2 a word. I know this doesent sound like much to some people, but this is REALLY bugging me. I have played the videos in just about every possible video player I can get my hands on, and it is all the same result. It appears the dropout is happening during the recording process.

I know this isn't the fault of NPVR. i have tried numerous different encoders as well. And, no matter what, this 1/2 second drop out comes back to haunt me.

My internet connection is SOLID at my house. Netgear AC1900 router all hard wired. So, I dont think it is my network that is lagging

Does anyone else here with the HDHomerun prime have this issue ?

I am noticing this on channels that broadcast in h.264 mostly. perhaps that is where my problem lies?

What is everyone else's experience with the HDHomerun prime ? Am I the only one with this issue ?

How to get EPG working for the TV Guide?

Hello! I am trying to get TV Guide listings working in NextPVR (as well as Kodi) from my HDHomeRun Prime. I got other help online to use zap2xml from tvguide.com. It creates the XML file, and the "channels" in NextPVR are set to XMLTV, with the XML file generated.

However, it still does not populate. How can I get it to?

Colossus dying?

Something strange going on here... is my Colossus card (in signature) dying?

Suddenly seems to have stopped working. See logs attached. The channel change works but there seems to be no data flowing and no picture when viewing/recording tv via hdmi.

I tried putting it in another PCIe slot in the PC but nothing. Also getting "No signal' through WinTV8 but it's still showing as device there.

Any ideas??

NPVR records but won't schedule season requests and two shows stopped recording early

$

I have two issues. Actually three, but I'll post the web issue separately.

I am trying a new NPVR setup and everything seemed to be working nicely. I got my hands on an HP intel i5 3.10ghz 2400Cpu HP computer with 16 gigs of RAM, 2 TB HDDs, Win 10 64-bit with a couple new PCI USB 2.0 cards installed. Since I have been using Hauppauge Colossus with three different computers recording Directv "Component" for years (WMC/NPVR), I decided its time to upgrade and integrate. Just do everything through NPVR. Over the past few of months, I've been adding HDPVRs, moving everything over and using network IP tuning. I am up to four HDPVRs and its been solid for the past month (at least up to this point). My aim is 5 HDPVRs.

Recent problems:

1# Last Friday, NPVR stopped scheduling anything "Seasonal". I can do "One time" record and watch TV. I can even schedule the "timeslot" to be recorded repeatedly. But when I try to schedule a "Season new" or "all shows on this channel" request, nothing happens in the native guide. All my old "season" requests are still intact and working. I just can't add anything new. Is there a request limit or memory limit to seasonal requests? Just for testing purposes, I made an attempt to season record "Young and the Restless" which didn't work (all jokes aside). So at least you had something easy to look at in the logs. I also made an attempt to season request "the Doctors" Both had "new Flags".

2# Last night, I tried to record a bunch of shows since I am working a lot. "Animal Kingdom" and "Wrecked" both cut off almost 30 minutes early but my other recordings where fine. This has not happened before.

I attached logs below for review...Thank you.

NextPVR recordings audio messed up

$

Hello! I got my tv guide issue settled, but now I have another issue. Recordings made thru NextPVR (Using Kodi as a frontend), have their audio messed up. It's intermittent, and the video never glitches, but the audio will sometimes sound like it's being played 2-3 times over itself, almost like an echo.

It comes and goes, and seems to happen one more than one channel. (Live TV is fine, only recordings have this)

Change PostUpdate EPG Process.

$

I feel the PostUpdateEPG process should run right after the Update EPG logic before the recurring recordings process is run. This would allow "tweaked" guide data to be added into the scheduled recording table. An example is a recent thread that talked about manually adding the OAD to the description. Users need to preporcess files but it is trivial in a sqlite script

Code:

update epg_event
set description = substr(original_air_date,0,11) || ' ' || description

because it impossible to do with the post update process. It should probably run in this area.

Code:

2017-06-28 06:48:44.403        [DEBUG][10]        UpdateEPG@4
2017-06-28 06:48:44.403        [DEBUG][10]        Updating recording schedule
2017-06-28 06:48:44.403        [INFO][10]        deleting old conflicts
2017-06-28 06:48:44.411        [INFO][10]        UpdateAllRecurringRecordings()

Windows 10 + NPVR + desktop slideshow

$

Hi,

I have noticed (a small annoyance) that NPVR seems to break Windows 10 desktop slideshow. This occurs on multiple clients.

If slideshow is enabled on Windows 10 and NPVR is started, slideshow stops sequencing images and the current is frozen on the desktop until I manually refresh the image through Windows Settings. There is no such issue when using the Kodi client or other viewers.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Any ideas why this happens? Is there anything I can do to stop this behavior?

Thanks

A possible reason why NextPVR takes a long time to boot under Kodi Krypton

$

I'm running Kodi on a Raspberry Pi and upgraded from Jarvis to Krypton earlier this year. The first thing I noticed when booting Krypton was that it took a lot longer to process the NextPVR channels/EPG/recordings than Jarvis. Jarvis boots in well under a minute while Krypton takes nearly 2.5 minutes to boot.

I created debug logs for both systems and then wrote a Kodi Log Comparison Utility in Python to analyze my Jarvis/Krypton logs. My analysis appears to show that the EPG scraper (TVDB) may be the source of the slow boot problem. Take a look at the following log: https://pastebin.com/qrhfCZg9

My log shows the time differential between Jarvis and Krypton for each log entry. This analysis has confirmed my original observation that Krypton takes 2:18 longer to process the same number of channels during boot up.

Please note that the log report in my paste bin only shows the "EPG - UpdateFromScraper" event. I suspect that somehow the TVDB addon may be the source of the problem since it is apparently used to update the EPG for each channel. If this addon is the reason for the longer Krypton boot, the next question has to be what has changed in TVDB to cause this problem.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem booting NextPVR?
