As in the title, i can't update the EPG using the xml file provided by mc2xml. In the log file I see this error:
Unexpected error updating EPG: System.NullReferenceException: Riferimento a un oggetto non impostato su un'istanza di oggetto.in NShared.EPGManager.UpdateEPG(IEPGUpdateCallback callback)
Any idea what the problem is?

Kodi NextPVR Client for Ubuntu 16.04... not showing up..

I am at a loss here... I am using Kodi 17.1 on a Odroid C2 platform with Ubuntu 16.04. When I go and add NextPVR using the Linux commands as per Kodi wiki... all seems to do as required, but when in Kodi, I never find the client. My backend NextPVR is up and running on a windows 10 box and I know it all works because my other Windows PC has Kodi on it and uses the backend just fine.

Can anybody give me any help on this or point me in the right direction... or?

Thank you

On Kodi 17.1 problems with CineS2 V6.5 and Unicable Setup

$

This is a siamese twin to my post in the kodi.tv forum, but here with the nextpvr logs as a addon :-)

Hi there,
i switched from a "old school" LNB to a new Unicable LNB.
After some working around i got both tuners up and running in nextpvr.
Ok the first time i try to switch to a chanel it looks like it is not working,
even if the Nextpvr Status is showing LiveTVxy, after a switch to another chanel and back it works.

But my real problem is:
Via Kodi i'm now not any longer able to watch live tv. This is a big nono for the WAF.
So anybody a idea what i can do to get nextpvr going in Kodi again?

1. Version of Kodi: 17.1
2. Windows Version: 7 SP1 64bit
3. CPU/Architecture: AMD A10 Series A10-6700T CPU&GPU
4. RAM amount: 8GB
5. Detailed Instructions to reproduce the Problem: Try to start any chanel in Livetv mode or via the epg.
6. Details of all devices relevant to the problem: Digital Devices CineS2 V6.5 with a Dura-Sat UK 124 LNB
7. FULL Debug Log: Debug Log
Nextpvr Logs are also available down below.

Anybody an idea?

I'm not 100% shure if it is a Kodi or Nextpvr problem. The big difference is
the switch from old LNb to new Unicable/Jess LNB with the first tuning problem in Nextpvr.
After a switch up and down everything works as expected inside NextPvr. But starting Livetv inside Kodi -> Boom, ring of death
till Kodi says: Tuner not longer available (two times, for both tuners).

I think i have to switch back to the old LNB, to keep the WAF on a normal level :-)

Inside DD-TV (SW from Digital Devices to test your card :-) ) everything works as expected.
P.S.: How the CineS2 V6.5 is configured:

Playing Recordings - am I missing something?

Hi,
When NextPVR generates a recording.. all good.. and the .ts file exists where it is supposed to..
Recording plays fine from the folder (using VLC)
but if I say open the NextPVR web page.. goto recordings.. I can see the recording but it tries to stream it from somewhere when I double click or play it??
there's a download link.. but not sure what that's for?
well.. as the recording already exists on the hard disk.. so why doesn't it just play when told?
can you associate a player like VLC as say the default playback app?
not a big issue.. as I can just visit the folder and play with VLC anyway.. just thought it should work from the NextPVR browser interface..
maybe I just haven't configured something right?
any clues..

Some Live TV Channels Not Working in Kodi

$

Have a Windows 10 machine using Kodi 17.3 with NextPVR as the PVR. Have a Ceton quad tuner for the HD TV. Everything is working really well except that a few channels do not work in Live TV mode. I can record from these channels and playback is flawless when watching these recordings. These channels come in fine when using the NextPVR either directly or through the localhost browser interface. I tried X NEWA (it is a program addon, not a PVR addon) as a NextPVR alternate. They both use Next PVR backend. X NEWA works so maybe the issue is the NextPVR plugin settings?

Anyone know a fix for the few channels not playing live in Kodi via the NextPVR addon?

Hauppauge DCR-3250 Channels

I am using Hauppauge's DCR-3250 Triple Tuner which is the virtual equivalent of SiliconDust's HDHomeRun device. HDHomeRun is ahead of DCR-3250 with regard to gleaning information from a cable supplier's channel list. The list can be obtained by visiting the device's LAN web page.

In particular, HDHomeRun will detect the type of encoding used for each channel, usually MPEG2 or H.264. This info is very useful to NextPVR when it comes to setting up the channels for a tuner. DCR-3250 does not provide this information and I am missing video on some channels.

I have asked Hauppauge about a new firmware update as they usually do when SiliconDust releases new firmware for there device. I asked them back in November 2016 and, at that time, their reply was that they're working on it. Right.

It's now nearly June 2017 and I have frequently checked the Hauppauge site for an update. Nothing. A new email to them has so far gone unanswered.

I'd like to know if there are any NextPVR users out there that are using HDHomeRun with the latest firmware(ver 20161117/20161119) and are connected to the Verizon FiOS Queens - Digital(USA-NY67791-X) channel lineup. If so, I'd like to get a copy of the "<HDHomeRunIP>\lineup.xml" file from the HDHomeRun LAN web page.

I'd appreciate it if anyone can help.

Thank you.

After KODI Upgarde to 17.3 "unable to communicate with recording service"

$

All was working satisfactorily until I upgraded to KODI 17.3. On trying to use KODI it could not communicate with NextPVR. So I tried to see LiveTv within NextPVR and received the message "Unable to communicate with recording service". I have check previous threads with this heading and this appears to me to be different, hence my post.
I tried starting NRecord.exe manually and received the message:
Unhandled exception: System.I.O. FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Unmanaged.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found. at NRecord.Program.Main(String[]args)
Unmanaged.dll does exist.
I deleted NextPVR and re-installed and got the same results.
I also started NextPVR Recording Service from within Task Manager/Services. Same result.
Logs are attached.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

External HDMI capture device?

$

Currently have a Hauppauge Colossus 2 PCI-e card installed in my Media PC (in signature) running with NextPVR.

It works well but I'm looking at a new setup and want to go to an external USB capture device for the HDMI input.

Anyone have a good handle on what options I might have? Is the Hauppauge HDPVR2 the right move? Ideally I want to keep the same functionality as the Colossus, but I don't to spend too much $$ if possible. Are there other cheaper options for HDMI capture that work well with NextPVR?

Analog Tuner Win 10 x64 - Any to sell? and question :)

$

Hello all!
I've been using this wonderful program for years now (back when it was gbpvr even :) ) and love it! Thanks everyone for all you do!

So I've been limping along on upgrades to OS over these years and have been on my 32-bit operating system. Sadly my tried and true PCI Hauppauge PVR150's won't work on 64-bit :(
I'm tired of being limited on my ram by 32-bit and have a nice solid state with Win 10 64-bit on it ready to go, I just need tuners that will work!

I'm totally analog and this isn't going to change in the next number of years, so I'm still on the old-tech side.
I'm looking to record 2 shows at once. I'd love to have one card that had 2 tuners and be good to go if that was possible. I'd prefer to stick with internal vs USB as I've seen a lot of comments regarding the USBs failing after a year or two or 3 but the cards being solid. (Any comments to this claim?)

I have:
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots
2 x PCI Express 2.0 x1 slots
2 x PCI slots

I see the 1600 cards note that they are dual, but it's unclear if one of the tuners is only for digital and the other is only for analog. Does anyone know the answer here?

Thoughts? Suggestions? Anyone in the US that has some analog items that are 64-bit compatible that they're looking to sell?

Thanks everyone!

NOOB Question: Base URL for Reverse Proxy?

$

I'm new to NPVR, and I love it! Got it all set up great up on LAN, but I need to configure my MS IIS webserver to host the reverse proxy to NPVR

So, How can I set the Base URL for the local NPVR webserver?

Also, is there a way to disable auth completely?

I'm using the stock webui.

Opening a file while it's recording doesn't update recording length time

$

On the client config.xml, I tried setting the following
<RecordingDirectoryTranslation>d:\temp~\\someserve r\someshare</RecordingDirectoryTranslation>
to my remote share folder.

That worked fine, it open the file directly on the server without using the Server recording services. Great for not filling up the Server NRecord.log files.

However, when i watch a ongoing recording, the recording time doesn't update as it does with I open the recording normally without setting RecordingDirectoryTranslation.

Same thing happens when I use "Open File" from the menu.

Is this a limitation of opening an in progress recording file?

Would it be possible to bypass the RecordingDirectoryTranslation setting for an in progress recording?

Out of Memory Error

I've recently added (4 days ago) a new dedicated server that is only running NextPVR v.3.9.2 for now. It's a recent i3 with 4GB of ram running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have one computer client hooked up, plus 5 popcorn hour devices. The issue I'm having is that on a daily basis, I'll go turn on one of the TVs and the popcorn hour, when trying to link to the mvpmc folder, gives me an Out of Memory Error. This happens with all popcorn hour A-100s when it shows up on the first. I'll check the NPVR server, and it is generally at 45% memory usage. The only way I've been able to fix this is by rebooting the server (I'm not sure if just stopping and restarting NPVR would fix it also), but this is a pain with the number of recordings going on, and it's just not wife and child friendly. I don't know if it has to do with comskip running or something along those lines. Any thoughts?

I don't know how to link a file with this new version of vBulletin, so here is a link to my google drive with all of the log files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx...XBMLWRoaWdUcjA

Thanks.

TV Listings Update with Task Scheduler issue windows 10

$

Ok, I've banged my head against this long enough.

I'm using zap2xml and I have a UpdateEPG.bat in the scripts directory. I can run the batch file, then open the nextPVR settings and click "update EPG" and the EPG will update as long as I do this manually every few days. I've set up a task in task scheduler to run the batch file every night at midnight and as far as I can tell the <expletive> thing has never run. The xml files do not show updated modified dates.

I'm sure this is a common issue you've all seen and the issue is plain as day, but as someone who rarely uses task scheduler I'm baffled. Cron works great in linux but this darn thing doesn't seem to work even though it's wizard based. I've followed the examples I can find googling "run a batch file from task scheduler" and they don't produce a working result.

What am I missing here? Seriously just running the batch file should update the guide. Why do I need to open the settings and run the update there as well? I should note that just running "update EPG" from the settings does not update the files even though it says it's running the batch file.

NextPVR is working great other than this issue with the EPG. What is wrong?

Codecs and Creators update

Did a clean install of Win 10 Creators update. Installed NPVR. When I try to watch live TV it plays audio but no video and says Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Recorder has MPEG2 support disabled.

I installed this MPEG2 Video Extension (https://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/stor...q1zzpmh4?rtc=1) from the MS webstore. I went to Settings / Decoders in NPVR and set Video Decoders / MPEG2 Video to Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Recorder from Disabled. I still get audio but no video. Would prefer to just get this to work instead of installing LAV filters or whatever. Any ideas maybe please ?

I'm in NZ using dvb-s with a Hauppauge pci-e card.

Not sure if any logs would help ?

Slow startup for channels

No idea if this is the right place...
But I use the NEWA client to test it.

When I start a channel it takes 15 seconds before I see something.
What's the reason that it takes so long?

It's both with the new guide as with the old guide. Starting the stream from that point.

See the logs for more information.
Tuning into the channels starts around 06/06/2017 7:17:31 and tuning into the channel was done at 06/06/2017 7:17:46

Do I use wrong decoders,.... Or is it something else?

WinTV DualHD Model 1595

I am running the most recent build of NextPVR on an older laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and was using an older wintv PVR USB2 tuner(analog cable) and a HVR-950(ATSC OTA HD) with hardly any issues at all. However, I wanted to be able to record 2 ATSC channels at the same time so I bought a WinTV DualHD 1595 tuner to replace the PVR USB2(since it does not support ATSC). I have successfully switched my HVR-950 over to record analog cable, but my DualHD is only showing up as QAM and DVB-T.

As you can see it shows that it is a dual tuner, but ATSC is not an option.
I downloaded the driver update from the webpage and it does work with the WinTV 8 software.
Thanks.

Returning from the nextpvr forums mobile site.

I recently searched Google and the results changed NextPVR to what looked to be the mobile site. I found the way back was to click the icon on the top right with 3 buttons and then go to the Full site. I think it changes a cookie to keep things in mobile mode.

Another way that I found changed this is to change or add the &styleid=1 parameter on the URL.

This is the kind of link I am talking about https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthrea...site&styleid=3

Recording TV - watching from the Recordings

$

Hi,

I've recently moved from WMC to NextPVR with Kodi frontend - so hope I'm posting in the right place here. I'm recording programs and watching them on a delay of around 10 minutes by using the Recordings menu (rather than the guide). The recordings timeshift don't seem to grow though, and after 10 minutes the program ends and I have to go into recordings again, open it up and now the program has 20 minutes worth of play time. Again, at the end of 20 minutes it ends and I have to go in again and play it.

Is there any way, like WMC that the end time can grow while you're watching the recording (as the ts file is growing in the background)?

I've done a search and can only find this thread from 2011 which sounds a little similar: https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthrea...ight=recording

Do others have this problem?

Thanks for any help!
